GLASSCORE
Instructions for Use

GlassCore is formulated without silver alloy as the ideal radiopaque, fluoride releasing core material and preparation fill-in material for vital and non-vital teeth. Its high compressive strength (26,000 psi), low coefficient of thermal expansion (9ppm) and excellent bond to dentin produce a restoration which virtually restores the tooth's original integrity.
Mixing Information:
  • Mixing Ratio : 0.186 g powder : 0.089 g liquid,
or 1 scoop powder : 1 drop liquid
  • Minimum Ratio : 2 scoops powder: 2 drops liquid
    (or multiples thereof )
  • Mixing Time (maximum) : 20 seconds
  • Working Time (from completion of mix) : 3 minutes
  • Initial Setting Time (from completion of mix) : 6 minutes
  • Total Time (from beginning of mix) : 6 minutes, 20 seconds

Please Note: The above times are based on normal room temperature (72oF, 22oC). Warmer or cooler conditions may alter these times. If possible, allow product to reach room temperature before using.

Mixing Instructions:

  1. Prior to measuring, gently shake powder bottle several times to fluff powder.
  2. Dispense 2 level scoops of GlassCore powder, or multiples thereof, onto mixing pad.
  3. Dispense 2 drops of GlassCore liquid onto mixing pad for each 2 scoops of GlassCore powder.
  4. Using a suitable spatula, incorporate GlassCore powder into GlassCore liquid and thoroughly mix with a flattening action for 20 seconds. Do not use a hot spatula.
  5. GlassCore has a working time of 3 minutes.

Instructions for Cores and Missing Tooth Aspects on Non-Vital Teeth:

  1. Use routine procedure for preventing contamination from crevicular fluids.
  2. Cleanse and dry tooth areas thoroughly. Do not use materials containing oils.
  3. Apply Pulpdent Bond Conditioner with a cotton or sponge pledget onto all exposed dentin surfaces and metal pins and posts for 10 seconds.
  4. Place matrix if required.
  5. Mix a sufficient quantity of GlassCore following the above prescribed instructions.
  6. Apply GlassCore onto the tooth and around pins and posts while it is still in the flowable phase. This promotes improved bonding to tooth structure. A composite syringe can be used for this purpose.
  7. Allow GlassCore to reach a firm, putty-like, moldable phase before hand shaping.
  8. If a matrix was not used, immediately cover GlassCore with Pulpdent Glass Ionomer Varnish, copal varnish or a light cure dentin/enamel bonding resin and allow GlassCore to set for 7 minutes.
  9. If a matrix was used, allow GlassCore to set for 7 minutes and then remove the matrix.
  10. Remove excesses with a sharp instrument.
  11. Commence rotary shaping, drilling and finishing.
  12. Cover GlassCore with Pulpdent Glass Ionomer Varnish, copal varnish or a light cure dentin/enamel bonding resin (recover if previously covered in step 8 above). Impressions can be made at this time.

Instructions for Missing Tooth Aspects and
Preparation Undercuts on Vital Teeth:

  1. Follow steps 1 and 2 above.
  2. In deep seated areas, it is recommended to apply a thin film of Pulpdent Cavity Liner on the pulpal and axial walls to insure against desiccation of the dentinal tubules and pulpal sensitivity.
  3. Follow steps 4 through 11 as above.

Precautions:

GlassCore liquid contains polyacrylic acid. Avoid contact with eyes. If eye contact is made, wash eyes with copious amounts of water. See your physician immediately if required.

Wash and clean GlassCore from instruments immediately after use. Wipe dry with clean towel.

Keep GlassCore powder and liquid bottles tightly covered when not in use. Store in cool dry area.
