Ortho-Choice
Glass Ionomer Band Cement
is specially formulated to provide a strong bond to
both enamel and metal. It provides sufficient working
time for multiple band cementation and removal of excess
material. It is fluoride releasing and radiopaque.
Mixing
Information:
- Mixing
Ratio: 0.186 g powder : 0.133 g liquid
- Minimum
Ratio: 2 scoops : 3 drops (or multiples thereof)
- Dispense
3 drops of liquid onto a mixing pad for each 2 scoops
of Ortho Band powder.
- Using
a suitable spatula, incorporate Ortho Band powder
into Ortho Band liquid and thoroughly mix with a flattening
action for 20 seconds.
- Glass
Ionomer Band Cement has a working time of 3 minutes.
Please
Note:
The above times are based on normal room temperature
(72oF, 22oC). Warmer or cooler
conditions may alter these times. If possible, allow
product to reach room temperature before using.
Mixing
Instructions:
- Prior
to measuring, gently shake or invert powder bottle
several times to fluff the powder.
- Dispense
2 level scoops of powder, or multiples thereof, onto
a mixing pad.
- Dispense
3 drops of liquid onto the mixing pad for each 2 scoops
of powder.
- Using
a suitable spatula, incorporate powder into liquid
and thoroughly mix with a flattening action for 20
seconds.
- Glass
Ionomer Band Cement has a working time of 3 minutes
Application
Instructions:
- Clean
teeth to be banded with pumice or non-oil containing
prophy paste and rinse thoroughly.
- Dry
thoroughly and provide suitable moisture control to
isolate area and to prevent moisture contamination
during initial setting.
- Apply
Glass Ionomer Band Cement onto all tooth bearing surfaces
of the band.
- Immediately
seat band onto tooth.
- Glass
Ionomer Band Cement can be easily wiped away with
a cotton roll during the gel stage or removed with
a scaler after it has set.
Precautions:
Glass
Ionomer Band Cement contains polyacrylic acid. Avoid
contact with eyes. If eye contact is made, wash eyes with
copious amounts of water. See your physician immediately,
if required.
Wash
and clean Band Cement from instruments immediately after
use. Wipe dry with a clean towel.
Keep
powder and liquid bottles tightly covered when not in
use. Store in cool dry area.
